Donation of a church and a house in Fonte de Arcada, in Braga

Between 1126 and 1128, Teresa de Leão, Countess of Portugal, mother of King Afonso Henrique, donated the “villa” of Fonte Arcada to the Order of the Poor Knights of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon, located south of Archbishop's city of Braga, current municipality of Penafiel.

The Templars owned a house in Fonte Arcada, as shown by a contract made between the Master of the Temple and the Bishop of Porto, which establishes what should be offered to the latter when he personally would visit the Thiago de Fonte Arcada Church.
