• What is the Route of the Templars in the Médio Tejo?

The Route of the Templars in the Médio Tejo is a tourist project, supported by the Programa Valorizar do Turismo de Portugal, which aims to enhance the historical-military heritage and promote tourism associated with the Templar theme in the Médio Tejo, including improving the experience of visiting the most outstanding Templar monuments in the territory through the implementation of differentiating offers and immersive experiences using new technologies. This Route aims to prepare the territory for different visitors, with contents prepared for different themes of interest (military, architectural, religious, and symbolic).

• Why to create different Itineraries?

To make the visit to the territory easy for those with one or more specific interests. These can be combined or edited depending on the time available and the individual tastes, group, or family.

• How to obtain the Route passport?

The passport can be obtained at any Tourist Office in the participating Municipalities and at some Points of Interest on the Route.

• Which Municipalities are part of the Route of the Templars in the Médio Tejo?

The participating municipalities are Abrantes, Ferreira do Zêzere, Ourém, Sertã, Tomar, Torres Novas and Vila Nova da Barquinha.
