Casa de Misericórdia Church
It is one of the most emblematic monuments of Torres Novas' heritage and its proximity to the Castle makes it a mandatory stop.
Built in the 16th century, the Misericórdia Church has been subjected to embellishment and decoration work over the years, turning it into an eclectic space with a rectangular plan and a single nave, composed of a Renaissance portico, 17th-century tile panelling on its walls, a 17th-century oil-painted wooden ceiling, three carved altarpieces, a tribune for the stewards and, among the diverse collection, the 18th-century Nativity scene attributed to the Machado de Castro School. In 1986 it was classified as a Site of Public Interest.
