Sete Montes National Park
It is at the Christ Convent Wall that we find one of the most mystic places related to Templars. Surrounded by the castle walls and the Convent of Christ, here you will find traces of ancient constructions in complete communion with nature. Highlight for “Charolinha”, a frescoed house, typical tempietto in carved stone, surrounded by a circular water tank and a stone bridge for access, designed by the architect João de Castilho, responsible for the Convent of Christ works.
In 1938, the Convent Wall was transformed into a Forest Park and Public Garden and, in 1986, it was designated as Mata dos Sete Montes, being integrated into the National Service of Parks, Reserves and Nature Conservation, becoming part of the National Natural Heritage. Take your time and enjoy the magical corners of this magnificent forest!
