Main Church of Santo Aleixo do Beco
Founded in the 16th century, the Main Church of Santo Aleixo do Beco, dedicated to Saint Aleixo, underwent successive renovation works in the 17th and 18th centuries. These works transformed the temple, giving it a heterogeneous structure, where details from different periods stand out.
The carved altarpiece in the chancel, for example, dates from the first half of the 18th century, while the tiles in the chancel date from the second half of the 18th century. Also be sure to examine the baptismal font in a bowl dating from the 16th century, the wooden bas-relief with scenes from the Calvary, dating from the 16th century, and several 15th century stone images and sepulchral slabs, dating from the 16th/17th centuries.
